Children help a crippled old man in Algeria..a photo that tops the “trend”

A scene of primary school students pushing the cart of a crippled sheikh to help him move around made the talk of the street in Algeria, after he embodied noble human values and reflected high morals among children at an early age, in a realistic message rarely matched.

The photo, which was widely circulated on social media, showed five children trying to push the cart, after they surrounded it from the back, front, and sides, in an attempt to enable it to move, even though some of them were carrying school portfolios that looked heavy.

This humanitarian scene came to overshadow other manifestations embodied in video clips and pictures of children in various educational levels, publishing content on social media sites from within the educational departments, actions that sparked widespread criticism and were described as reckless.

The photo received positive interaction from social media users, who praised the meanings of solidarity and compassion it conveyed. One of them wrote: “It is not just a passing image, but a scene in which humanity summarizes the most beautiful meanings of compassion and solidarity,” while another commented: “These buds send a beautiful message to everyone, that goodness is still alive in the hearts of Algerians.”

Another commentator wrote: “Real education is not only lessons within the departments, but morals that are translated into human actions and attitudes.”

In this context, educational specialist Ammar Belhassan believed that the scene of children helping a crippled old man move around “reflects the importance of moral education in raising a child, and confirms that the school’s function is not limited to providing knowledge and educational programs, but also includes instilling the values of solidarity, interdependence, and respect for others, especially the elderly and those with special needs.”

Belhassan added, in a statement to Al Arabiya.net, that “such positive behaviors are formed as a result of the interaction of several factors, most notably family upbringing, the social environment, and educational guidance within educational institutions,” noting that children acquire values through daily practice and good example, more than they acquire them through theoretical indoctrination.

The spokesman stressed that investing positive scenes in school activities would consolidate civil behavior and transform these initiatives into role models.
