First Dismissal of a Coach After Elimination from "Gulf 27"

- The Bahrain Football Association announced through its social media accounts on Monday that it has mutually terminated the contract with the head coach of the national team, Dragan Talajic. The decision to part ways with the Croatian coach came days after the Bahrain national team was eliminated from the group stage of the "Gulf Arab" Cup, finishing last in Group B without any points after suffering 3 defeats to the UAE, Qatar, and Yemen.

The Bahrain Football Association expressed its "thanks and appreciation" to Talajic and his coaching staff, wishing them success in their future endeavors. The association clarified that it will review several resumes of coaches before appointing one to lead the national team.

Dragan Talajic, 61, took over the Bahrain national team in February 2024. He previously worked with clubs such as Al-Ittihad of Saudi Arabia, Al-Khalidiya, and Al-Wehdat, achieving titles in the AFC Champions League, the King of Bahrain Cup, the Jordanian League, and the Jordan Cup.
