Israel Cancels Accreditation of Dutch Diplomats in Ramallah and Ends Their Immunity Within 7 Days

Tel Aviv - Ofok News - Israeli Foreign Minister Gidon Sa'ar informed the Dutch embassy in Israel of a decision to revoke the accreditation of several Dutch diplomats working in Ramallah, granting them a seven-day period to return the diplomatic documents issued to them by the Israeli authorities.

According to the Israeli decision, the privileges, immunities, and rights granted by Israel to these diplomats by virtue of their diplomatic status will expire at the end of the grace period, as reported by Israeli media sources.

The decision comes in the wake of measures taken by the Netherlands regarding products from Israeli settlements in the West Bank. The Dutch measures came into effect on September 22, and include a ban on importing, purchasing, and selling settlement products within the Dutch market.

The Dutch government had approved the measure as it aims to prevent Dutch economic activities from contributing to a situation considered contrary to international law, while Israel rejected the step and considered it part of a series of Dutch measures against it.
