The CEO of the National Center of Meteorology, Dr. Ayman bin Salem Ghulam, confirmed that the Center began its preparations early for the rainy season, by raising the level of preparedness to deal with potential weather phenomena, and creating an “early climate briefing” to support proactive decision-making and enhance the efficiency of responding to expected weather conditions.
Ghulam explained that the center has strengthened coordination and integration with the concerned authorities to implement the approved procedures and mechanisms, which contributes to raising the level of preparedness and reducing the potential effects of weather phenomena.
He pointed out that the "early climate briefing" aims to provide concerned parties with climate and meteorological information at an early stage, which will help them take appropriate proactive measures and increase the efficiency of responding to weather conditions.
The center had issued its climate forecast report for the next three months, which indicated expectations of higher than normal rainfall, in conjunction with continuing efforts aimed at enhancing the readiness of the concerned authorities to deal with potential weather phenomena.
