The president of the German club Bayern Munich, Herbert Hainer, expressed his optimism that the English striker Harry Kane would remain within the ranks of the “Bavarians” during the next stage. Kane joined the club active in the Bundesliga competition in the summer of 2023, and has a contract with him until June 30, 2027.
The 33-year-old player played 155 matches with Bayern Munich in various competitions, during which he scored 152 goals and provided 37 assists, and with his teammates he achieved the German League titles, the German Cup and the German Super Cup. In statements reported by the “TNT SPORTS” network on Monday, Herbert Hainer said: “A new contract for Harry Kane. I am very optimistic. The talks are going very well. The player and his family feel completely comfortable in Munich. I am very optimistic that the matter will be completed soon.”
Last September, the English striker said about the possibility of renewing his contract: “We are in good talks, we are fairly close.” He added: "There are still some matters that we need to settle. I am happy about that. I think it will not be long before an announcement is made."
He continued: "I feel very comfortable in the team, with the coach, and in the surrounding environment. I just want to stay at this level and strive to reach this level for as long as possible." Press reports claimed that Harry Kane was among the interests of the Spanish club Barcelona last summer, after the failure to sign Argentine striker Julián Alvarez.
