The official spokesman for the “Coalition to Support Legitimacy in Yemen” led by Saudi Arabia, Major General Turki Al-Maliki, on Thursday, revealed details of the Houthi attacks on King Khalid and Abha airports, and the strikes carried out by the coalition against them in Yemen. Turki Al-Maliki said in a press conference about the Houthi attacks on airports and civilian facilities in Saudi Arabia: “We condemn the brutal Houthi attacks on civilians in the Kingdom, including King Khalid International Airport in Riyadh, in a series of brutal attacks on civilian facilities frequented daily by thousands of travelers and innocent civilians, as well as attempts to target dozens of airports, ports, and oil installations in the Kingdom,” according to what was reported by the Saudi Al-Ikhbariya channel on the “X” platform, previously Twitter.
Turki Al-Maliki confirmed that there have been 20 Houthi attacks on King Khalid Airport since the beginning of this October, resulting in 17 deaths and 333 injuries. Major General Turki Al-Maliki added that two people were killed and 28 others were injured as a result of the Houthi attack on Abha Airport, adding that "what the Houthi militia is doing is a flagrant violation of international norms."
Turki Al-Maliki stressed that "targeting airports affects the security of the Kingdom and threatens air traffic." He said: "The Houthi attempts to target the Two Holy Mosques are a systematic hostile act and a heinous matter that targets pilgrims and visitors."
He said that the Houthis have launched 1,104 missiles and 1,135 drones at Saudi Arabia since the start of the operations. Regarding the coalition operations against the Houthis in Yemen, Turki Al-Maliki said: “We destroyed 127 warehouses in mountainous areas and launching pads in Yemen.”
The coalition spokesman confirmed: “We are working to dismantle the terrorist network and eliminate its experts.” Turki Al-Maliki explained: "We targeted 4 sites that fund the Houthi militia, and we have the ability to identify the sites used by the Houthi militias."
The coalition spokesman stated in the press conference, "The Houthi militia obtained advanced technologies with the help of regional parties, becoming the first terrorist group to possess ballistic missiles, attack and suicide planes, and explosive speedboats, which places the international community responsible for preventing terrorist groups from obtaining advanced technologies and weapons." Turki Al-Maliki stressed, “The Saudi Armed Forces have acquired combat systems with high readiness and advanced capabilities, and we possess a highly efficient air defense that can intercept threats and thwart targeting attempts to protect the Kingdom’s sovereignty, security, capabilities, sanctities, citizens, and residents of its lands.”
The coalition spokesman stressed that the Houthi militia must immediately stop all "its terrorist operations targeting civilians and civilian objects." At the same time, Turki Al-Maliki said: “We affirm our strict commitment to international humanitarian law, and we have taken possible precautions to avoid causing loss or damage to civilians during the planning and implementation of the process of neutralizing the capabilities of the Houthi militia, which it uses in its terrorist operations.”
The spokesman showed video clips of Houthi attacks and the remnants of ballistic missiles that were dropped in their attacks on sites and airports in Saudi Arabia, and what he said were scenes of vital sites and sources of funding for the Houthi militia that were targeted by the coalition in Yemen.
