Saudi Arabia: Interior Ministry Announces Execution of Citizen 'Qisas' and Publishes His Name and Crime

- The Saudi Ministry of Interior announced in a statement on Sunday the execution of a death sentence "Qisas" against a citizen in the Riyadh region, after confirming his conviction for killing another Saudi citizen, according to the Saudi Press Agency "SPA" on Monday. The Saudi Ministry of Interior stated: "Abdullah bin Mujaib bin Saeed Al-Ghaib Al-Qahtani, a Saudi national, killed Khalid bin Mohammed bin Khalid Al-Adwani, a Saudi national, by stabbing him multiple times with a sharp object, which led to his death," as reported by the "SPA."

The Saudi Ministry of Interior added in its statement: "By the grace of God, the security authorities were able to arrest the mentioned perpetrator, and the investigation with him resulted in charges being brought against him for committing the crime. After being referred to the competent court, a ruling was issued confirming the charges against him and sentencing him to death (Qisas). The ruling became final after being appealed and then upheld by the Supreme Court, and a royal order was issued to implement what was legally determined." The ministry confirmed that "the death sentence (Qisas) was carried out against the perpetrator Abdullah bin Mujaib bin Saeed Al-Ghaib Al-Qahtani, a Saudi national, on Sunday, 19/2/1448 Hijri, corresponding to 2/8/2026 Gregorian in the Riyadh region."
