U.S. Senate Rejects Bill to Investigate Crimes by Israel and Settlers in the West Bank

Washington - Afaq News - Almost all Democratic senators voted in favor of a bill that requires the Trump administration to provide a report on human rights regarding Israel's practices in the West Bank, including an investigation into the killing of American Palestinian citizens.

However, the bill was ultimately rejected with a vote of 51 to 47, and Senator Jon Peterman was the only Democrat who voted against it.

This vote reflects the increasing desire of the party to push for punitive actions against Israel, alongside new bills from senior Democrats to impose sanctions on settlement construction.

Senator Chris Van Hollen, the bill's sponsor, said: "It is our responsibility to ensure that recipients of taxpayer funds adhere to our laws and values."
