Iraq: Two ISIS Members Killed in Kirkuk

The Counter-Terrorism Service announced today, Sunday, the killing of two terrorists wearing explosive belts in the town of al-Tun Kubri in Kirkuk province.

The service stated in a brief statement received by the Iraqi News Agency (INA): "Clashes between the Counter-Terrorism Service and remnants of ISIS terrorist gangs in Kirkuk province resulted in the killing of two terrorists wearing explosive belts in al-Tun Kubri."

Hours earlier, the Security Media Cell in Iraq announced the death of a woman during an attempt to target two ISIS members in Kirkuk (250 km north of Baghdad).

The media cell said in a statement published on its Facebook page today: "Security forces monitored the movement of two remnants of ISIS near the village of al-Malha, which is within the sector of the 11th Division in the Kirkuk Operations Command, late last night, Saturday."

It added, "As a result, our units engaged the monitored site by firing two mortar shells," noting that "the incident led to the injury of a civilian woman who happened to be near the site, and she was urgently transported to the hospital for treatment, but she succumbed to her injuries."
