Settlers Prepare for a Massive March in Northern West Bank

Tel Aviv - Afaq News - The Israeli occupation authorities are preparing to organize a large march next Wednesday in the northern West Bank, between the settlements of "Ganim" and "Kadim," which were recently re-established after being evacuated and destroyed as part of the Israeli "disengagement plan" in 2005.

The march, named "Samaria March," comes just a month after the re-establishment of the two settlements, amid extensive security and logistical preparations. The organizing body reported that tens of thousands of Israelis have visited tourist and heritage sites in the area in recent days.

The event will begin at 9 AM with a celebratory prayer in the new settlement of "Noya," located near the march route, with participants able to reach the area via the Gilboa crossing.

At 11 AM, the march will start from "Ganim" towards "Kadim," on a route that allows participants to access areas in the northern West Bank and see what the organizing bodies describe as "renewed settlement" in the region.

Participants are expected to arrive at "Kadim" at 1 PM, where a celebratory musical performance by artist Benny Landau will take place, featuring artist Shir David Gdasi.

According to the event organizers, the occupation forces will secure the march and its entire route, while parking will be designated at the "Ganim" junction, from where participants will be transported by shuttle buses.

The head of the regional council for settlements in northern Samaria, Yossi Dagan, stated that the march aims to demonstrate what he described as "attachment to the land," and called on Israelis from all over Israel to participate in it.

Dagan added: "There is something moving and particularly powerful about walking during the holiday of Sukkot from Ganim to Kadim, just one month after the re-establishment of these two settlements. These are places that were destroyed during the evacuation, and today we return to them with families, children, and Israeli flags."

He continued: "The people of Israel are returning to life in northern Samaria, and this is complete victory. The dear people of Israel are voting with their feet, so come with Israeli flags, support the pioneers, and experience this historic moment up close."

The "Samaria March" is the main event in a series of activities organized by the Israeli settlement councils in northern West Bank during the holiday of Sukkot.

According to the organizers, the region has witnessed, over the past few days, tourism and heritage activities that involved tens of thousands of participants, including the event "Race to a Million," which saw hundreds of families and visitors participating, and included a tour of heritage and settlement sites.

The event started from the "Samaria Treasures" center and the soil testing facility in the "Shave Shomron" settlement, before continuing to the historic train station in Sebastia, then to the settlements of "Homesh" and "Shave Shomron," which were previously evacuated and have been re-established.

Throughout the week, a series of events are ongoing in various parts of northern Samaria, including tours in Mount Gerizim, activities at the "Alon Moreh Heritage Center," trails in the Wadi Qana reserve, field trips by vehicles, tours in agricultural farms, tastings of products from wineries, and visits to the springs scattered throughout the region.

A large event is scheduled for Thursday at Mount Ebal, which will include a vehicle tour to what the organizing bodies describe as the "Altar of Joshua bin Nun," in addition to a view from "Mitzpe Yosef."

These events come as part of Israeli efforts to enhance settlement and tourism presence in areas of northern West Bank, particularly in sites that were evacuated during the disengagement plan in 2005.
