The ministry stated that one of the missiles fell near the airport runway just minutes before the landing of Yemenia flight number 603 coming from Cairo, prompting the authorities to cancel its landing and redirect it to Jeddah.
It added that the airport was simultaneously witnessing the presence of passengers and employees preparing for a flight to Jeddah at three in the morning, in addition to two aircraft belonging to Yemenia Airlines and Aden Airlines on the ground at the airport.
According to the statement, the authorities evacuated the two aircraft from the danger zone, and also evacuated the airport building of employees and passengers, coinciding with the detection of several drones in the skies of Aden.
