The Public Prosecution Reveals Details of the Arrest of 6 Suspects in the 'Motsadqesh' Case and Decides to Detain Them

The Public Prosecution ordered the detention of six suspects pending investigations in case No. 8083 of 2026, concerning the Supreme State Security, for their alleged membership in a banned group, managing and feeding the electronic platform "Motsadqesh" to spread rumors and false news, and receiving financial funding in foreign currency from abroad.

The Public Prosecution had received investigations from the National Security Sector indicating that leaders of the Brotherhood group abroad had issued directives to their cadres to create electronic platforms and pages, including the "Motsadqesh" page, to use them in inciting public discontent, questioning the performance of state institutions and their officials, and pushing for gatherings and protests.

Based on a warrant issued by the prosecution, security forces arrested six individuals responsible for managing the page and working with it inside the country, including a journalist registered with the Journalists' Syndicate.

The prosecution indicated that one of the suspects admitted during interrogation to his affiliation and that of the other detainees to the media committee of the group, and that they received directives via secure communication applications to implement a media plan aimed at highlighting negatives and exaggerating sectoral crises. He also acknowledged that the page's workers received monthly funding in US dollars through bank transfers from a company owned by a fugitive leader abroad.

For their part, the other suspects admitted to working on the platform and receiving periodic financial amounts from abroad, while most of them denied joining the group, except for one suspect who stated that he had separated from it before joining the page.

The technical examination of the phones and accounts revealed the existence of closed groups and electronic communication with the fugitive leader, in addition to posting messages calling for the overthrow of the regime, which was confirmed by the technical examination of the journalist's account despite his denial of it.

Regarding the legal and health procedures, the prosecution confirmed that the interrogation took place in the presence of the defendants' lawyer and a representative from the journalists' syndicate, noting that three defendants who claimed to have been subjected to harsh treatment were referred to the forensic medicine authority, which confirmed in its reports that they were completely free of any injuries or signs indicating the use of violence against them.

The public prosecution decided to continue the defendants' detention pending the case, while investigations continue to uncover all aspects of the mentioned scheme.
