Karmel Municipality Opens Electricity File.. Increasing the Town's Share and Improving Service

The Carmel - Afaq News - The Mayor of Carmel, Mr. Qassem Abu Aram, along with members of the municipal council and municipal employees, discussed during a visit to the Electricity Regulatory Council with Engineer Hamdi Tahboub, the reality of the electricity sector in Carmel and ways to develop it and address the existing challenges.

Mayor Qassem Abu Aram emphasized that the electricity file represents a service and developmental priority, stressing the need to preserve the municipal assets in electricity, reassess the reality of the electrical system, address the accumulated files, and reorganize roles with all parties involved, including the Electricity Regulatory Council, the Southern Electricity Company, and the assets related to the sector, in a way that preserves the municipality's rights and enhances its ability to manage the file efficiently, in addition to developing the technical aspects of the network.

The meeting also addressed reducing electrical losses, improving network efficiency and collection, increasing the amounts of electricity available to Carmel in line with its needs, and enhancing the stability of the current and the quality of service provided to citizens.

For his part, Engineer Hamdi Tahboub welcomed the municipal delegation, affirming the importance of addressing the existing issues and working on resolving them, and continuing coordination to reach practical solutions that contribute to the development of the electricity sector and improve the level of service.

The two parties agreed to continue the technical and organizational follow-up of the file and work on practical steps to address the raised issues and enhance the sustainability of the electricity sector in Carmel, while the visit included a tour of several ministries and institutions to follow up on the demands and entitlements of the Municipality of Carmel.
