The satellite channel anchor smiled a smile whose significance and meaning can be understood, after broadcasting a clip of President Donald Trump in which he was heaping strong and scathing criticism of the Nobel Peace Prize Committee, which decided to award it to the South African judge, Navi Pillay, based on the reasons that the committee saw as sufficient for the judge’s eligibility for the award, as it was “the culmination of a journey that began with defending the victims of apartheid in her country, leading to the presidency of the United Nations Commission of Inquiry, which concluded in 2025 that “Israel committed genocide in Gaza, placing the responsibility for justice for the Palestinians before the international community.” The Nobel Committee said that Navi Pillay “held leaders accountable, brought hope to victims of violence and conflict, and demonstrated a consistent moral compass throughout her long career.” It is known that Judge Pillay worked in several international courts, including the International Criminal Court.
America is not a member of the International Criminal Court, and strongly opposes its work and jurisdiction, with regard to American citizens and those belonging to its allied countries, let alone when it comes to Israel and its Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu, against whom the court issued an arrest warrant, causing President Trump to impose economic sanctions and travel restrictions that affected 13 officials of the court, including nine judges. But it seems that the court provoked Trump to an extent beyond his tolerance when Nobel awarded the peace prize this year to the judge who works for it and adopted the Gaza file. A volcano of his anger exploded at the Nobel Committee, the court, and the judge, and he poured on them what he found in his dictionary of anger.
From what President Trump said, the Nobel Peace Prize Committee is corrupt and unprofessional when it does not appreciate stopping eight wars and awards the award to a judge in a court that America does not recognize. He added that America deserves eight Nobel Peace Prizes, and here he is referring to his person, as the award is given to people, not countries. President Trump has the right to aspire to the Nobel Peace Prize among his limitless ambitions, but in return we are looking for the eight wars that he stopped as we see the world burning with wars.
