Arab Designs Top the Looks at the MTV Video Music Awards in Los Angeles

- The MTV Video Music Awards 2026 red carpet in Los Angeles, USA, witnessed a range of looks that varied between shiny and transparent designs, bold cuts, and outfits that carried the showy character typical of music award ceremonies. Lebanese designers had a presence at this event, with Zuhair Murad being chosen by American actress and singer Teyana Taylor, and Georges Hobeika whose design was worn by British singer Ray.

Taylor wore a black design from Zuhair Murad's Fall 2026 haute couture collection. It featured a long transparent coat-dress cut, characterized by a deep neckline and feather details at the collar, sleeves, and hem, while the transparent fabric revealed parts of the body.

The defined waistline and high slit added more dramatic details to the design. Taylor completed her look with dark eye makeup and an updo hairstyle at the front.

On her part, Ray chose a silver dress from Georges Hobeika's Fall 2027 haute couture collection, which was characterized by a style inspired by the elegance of old Hollywood. It came with transparent fabric and shiny embroidery that covered large parts of it, while the dangling details at the chest area added movement to the design.

She completed the look with a retro hairstyle and red lipstick. American singer Taylor Swift's look carried a classic elegant character, with a dress that combined black and silver from American designer Tamara Ralph.

The upper part featured a transparent black corset-style design on the sides with a "halter" neckline, while the skirt was covered with shiny silver details, and part of it draped asymmetrically around the waist. American actress Dakota Johnson, after her appearance in a sheer dress with visible underwear in London, appeared during the event to present Taylor Swift, wearing a beige dress specially designed for her by the American brand "Calvin Klein."

The dress had a straight cut and was adorned with beads and sparkling embroidery. She maintained the usual headlines in hair and makeup with a diamond necklace.

Red dominated Lisa's look, a member of the South Korean group "Blackpink," who wore a sheer and body-hugging dress from the Italian brand "The Attico," featuring corset-inspired details, and paired it with a huge red fur coat. The size contrast between the tight dress and the oversized coat created a clear distinction in the look, which she completed with an updo hairstyle.
