In a new Israeli violation, Israeli forces penetrated, on Sunday, into areas of southern Syria, bulldozing agricultural lands in Quneitra, while erecting a barrier that impeded the movement of residents in the western countryside of Daraa.

An Israeli force, consisting of a tank and a number of military vehicles, entered west of Al-Hanout farm in the southern Quneitra countryside, and began to bulldoze agricultural lands planted with olive trees, according to the Syrian news agency, SANA.

As for the northern countryside of Quneitra, Israeli forces released two young men whom they had detained, on Saturday, during their incursion into the vicinity of the village of Taranja, while they were working in the olive fields in the area.

In the western countryside of Daraa, Israeli forces penetrated the Al-Aqrabiya area, located between the village of Abdeen and the town of Jamla in the Yarmouk Basin region, and established a barrier that impeded the movement of residents, before withdrawing from the area.

Israeli incursions into areas of southern Syria have continued since the fall of the former Syrian regime in December 2024, amid a dispute over the Israeli military presence in the region and the future of security arrangements between Damascus and Tel Aviv.

It is noteworthy that Damascus had confirmed more than once that Israel had violated the 1974 Disengagement Agreement, through military incursions, raiding homes, arresting residents, leveling lands, and carrying out missile attacks, and demanded the withdrawal of Israeli forces from Syrian territory.

Syria also confirmed its adherence to the disengagement agreement and its readiness to negotiate with the Israeli side to reach a security agreement, while the United States has been seeking for more than a year to bring the views of the two parties closer together and conclude an agreement regulating security arrangements, but these efforts have not yet resulted in an agreement.
