The Egyptian Ministry of Interior revealed details and the cause of a fire that broke out in the Azbakeya Police Station near Ramses Square in the heart of Cairo.

The ministry explained in a statement yesterday, Monday, the details of the incident; confirming that the civil protection forces managed to extinguish a limited fire that broke out on the side facade of the station without any loss of life.

The initial inspection attributed the cause of the fire to an electrical short circuit in one of the air conditioning units installed on the external facade of the building.

Additionally, the Ministry of Interior confirmed that the fire did not extend at all to the inside of the building or to the citizen service offices, and the incident did not result in any injuries or human losses.
