Positive messages from Cairo... national unity and the arrangement of the Fatah House at the dialogue table

Cairo - Ofoq News - Fatah movement spokesman and member of its Revolutionary Council, Munther Al-Hayek, confirmed that the second round of dialogue with the Palestinian factions in Cairo concluded in a positive atmosphere, in light of continued Egyptian efforts to advance the path of national unity, in parallel with discussing practical steps to address the movement’s internal conditions.

Al-Hayek said, in a statement, that the tour was held under the auspices and interest of the Egyptian leadership, headed by Jibril Rajoub and Muhammad Shtayyeh, and witnessed a positive atmosphere that reflected the keenness to build a common political, militant and organizational platform, in preparation for a comprehensive national dialogue that achieves national unity and protects the Palestinian national project.

He added that the national project, foremost among which is the establishment of an independent Palestinian state, is based on the program of the Palestine Liberation Organization, its commitments, agreements, and the decisions of its successive national councils.

In the same context, the Fatah delegation met with Samir Al-Mashharawi, where a set of practical ideas and proposals were exchanged to end the exceptional circumstances that the movement is going through, based on the initiative of President Mahmoud Abbas “Abu Mazen” and the decision of the Revolutionary Council, and within the framework of the movement’s internal regulations.

Hayek explained that the meeting was dominated by a positive atmosphere, during which the participants stressed that the strength of the Fatah movement lies in its unity and the cohesion of its members, and that overcoming differences and strengthening internal partnership constitute an essential foundation for restoring the movement’s role and national standing, and enhancing its ability to continue its struggle and national role at this delicate stage.

At the conclusion of the meetings, the movement’s delegation appreciated the Egyptian role and the efforts of the Egyptian leadership and its continued sponsorship of the Palestinian dialogue, praising Egypt’s steadfast positions and its continued efforts in supporting the Palestinian cause and enhancing the chances of achieving national unity.
