CENTCOM: IRGC Claims of Control over Hormuz are False

The U.S. Central Command denied the claims made by a leader of the Revolutionary Guard regarding Iran's control over the entrances and exits of the Strait of Hormuz, suggesting that sailors can only use the routes designated by the Revolutionary Guard.

CENTCOM described this as a "false claim," stating through its account on the platform "X" that Iran does not control the strait, and that the international waterway remains open for transit regardless of the threats and attacks from the Revolutionary Guard.

It also pointed out that "Iran does not control the Strait of Hormuz... and commercial vessels continue to use the strait with U.S. military support since early May, as evidenced by the passage of thousands of ships through it."

It noted that more than one billion barrels of oil have passed through the Strait of Hormuz in the past few months.
