The Director General of the General Authority for Precious Metals Management in Syria, Musab Al-Aswad, discussed with several officials and stakeholders in the gold sector in Turkey ways to enhance cooperation in the field of precious metals industry and trade, and to benefit from the Turkish experience in developing the gold sector.
The Syrian Ministry of Economy and Industry stated that the delegation of the General Authority for Precious Metals Management met during its visit to Turkey with the relevant parties in the Goldsmiths Syndicate in Gaziantep, the Gold Complex in Maraş, and the Gold and Equipment Exhibition and the Goldsmiths Complex "Komgokent" in Istanbul.
The ministry indicated that the delegation was briefed on the modern Turkish equipment and technologies used in the industry, crafting, and development of precious metals, according to the Syrian news agency "SANA."
Al-Aswad explained that the visit aims to discuss mechanisms for organizing visits for Syrian goldsmiths to Turkey, allowing them to see the latest machines, equipment, tools, and industrial spare parts used in gold manufacturing, and to explore the possibility of securing them from the Turkish market, which contributes to developing work tools and increasing production efficiency in the Syrian goldsmith sector.
The General Authority for the Management of Precious Metals in Syria was established in February 2025, with the aim of organizing and developing the gold and precious metals sector, and enhancing its role in the national economy, within a financially and administratively independent institutional framework, in addition to supervising the gold pricing mechanism through the jewelers' associations in the provinces.
