Prince Abdulaziz bin Salman bin Abdulaziz, Minister of Energy and Minister of Industry and Mineral Resources, is accustomed to putting his own special touches in the words he delivers at the events, meetings, and dialogues in which he participates. He surprises us every time with his clever hints, important messages, and eloquent references, which go beyond the scope of the occasion in which he speaks. He uses the occasion, with his experience and wisdom, to tell the world something that has implications that can be understood by those who discern the deep meanings hidden within the folds of words.
At the International Energy Forum and the World Petroleum Conference, held in Riyadh, Prince Abdulaziz said: The Kingdom is like a “phoenix” that always rises from the ashes to soar again. The simile was good and conveyed the meaning that describes the Kingdom, past and present. The first Saudi state fell due to force majeure circumstances, but it did not remain for long under the ashes. Rather, it rose again and became the second Saudi state. When it fell, it did not fall for long. It was rescued by the Falcon of the Peninsula, King Abdulaziz, the founder of the third Saudi state, which became a newly unified entity called the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia. Many conspired against it, fought against it, and many were hostile to it, but it continued to withstand all the storms, and whenever it went through a crisis, it rose from it stronger and stronger.
Prince Abdulaziz also stressed, in his speech, that work on Vision 2030 must continue “under any circumstances.” Here we find a strong and clear message to the whole world, that no matter how complicated matters become or how political circumstances or economic fluctuations develop, the vision project will go its way, because it is a project for a homeland, a people, a state, and a future, and it will not retreat or stop. The time frame for some of its parts may be reconsidered or its priorities may be arranged, but it continues to achieve its great goals that the current generation and future generations will benefit from.
The immunity that the Kingdom has acquired against crises and fluctuations in circumstances makes it able to successfully overcome obstacles and deal with any obstacles with intelligence, skill and experience. It always excels in passing any exam, and time has proven this fact.
