Two Years Since the Assassination of Nasrallah.. Khamenei Issues a Sharp Message to the West and Attacks Hezbollah Opponents

Tehran - Afaq News - Iranian leader Mojtaba Khamenei issued a sharp message to Western countries today, Monday, during a speech on the occasion of "Sacred Defense Week" and the second anniversary of the assassination of the former Secretary-General of Hezbollah, Hassan Nasrallah, emphasizing that Iran has been strengthened by recent wars, and that major powers "are seeking refuge from the attacks of Islamic fighters and are begging to stop the war."

Khamenei praised Nasrallah, describing him as a "hero of the Arabs" and a "great symbol of the resistance front," and also commended the current Secretary-General of Hezbollah, Naeem Qassem, considering that he continues the path of his predecessor.

In contrast, Khamenei attacked Lebanese entities that he said are pinning their hopes on "the false promises of major powers," predicting that their names will be "buried and forgotten" in the pages of history, and that they will be remembered in the future in the context of "evil, lack of wisdom, and perhaps betrayal," according to those media reports.

"Recent wars have strengthened us"

In another part of his speech, the Iranian leader sent a strong message to Western countries, stating that the era in which foreign powers could impose their will on Iran has ended.

He added that those who hope to return Iran to a phase of Western influence "will not see that happen."

Khamenei also addressed the internal situation in Iran, stating that a wide popular presence in the streets and squares has been ongoing for seven months, and that the country is in a state of "armed readiness."

He said that the recent pressures and wars have strengthened the Islamic Republic instead of weakening it, likening it to a "phoenix" that continued to grow until its "shadow of flight extends to the enemy's territory."
