Iraqi Reveals Iranian President's Plans During His Visit to New York

- Iranian Foreign Minister Abbas Araghchi revealed on Tuesday the plans of Iranian President Masoud Bezhkishan during his visit to New York to participate in the 81st session of the United Nations General Assembly. The official Iranian news agency "IRNA" quoted Araghchi as saying, at the beginning of his visit to New York: "The president will deliver a speech and hold meetings with intellectuals, media figures, and Iranian and foreign thinkers."

Araghchi explained: "The president will conduct interviews with various media outlets and hold numerous bilateral meetings with heads of state, and I will hold meetings with foreign ministers. This is a golden opportunity to review bilateral relations with these countries, as well as to express our positions and defend the national interests of the country."

The Iranian Foreign Minister indicated that "our most important goal is to be present in a large international forum to defend the rights and interests of the Iranian people." Araghchi added: "The United Nations is the largest international forum.

The extent of its success in achieving its goals of establishing peace, security, and justice is a subject of discussion, and whether it provides a platform for countries to present their positions and messages to the world is another matter. The latter is of great importance to us, as every year, this opportunity is exploited to express the positions of the Islamic Republic of Iran regarding its rights and our known positions, and to defend the rights of the Iranian people."

The Iranian Foreign Minister said: "This year, after the war that broke out, it is natural for this platform to be a forum for expressing the grievances of the Iranian people, the martyrs of the Minab school, and the martyrs of Iran, led by our martyr commander." The administration of former U.S. President Donald Trump announced that it would allow the "core delegation" of Iran, which may include Iranian President Masoud Bezhkishan, to attend the meetings of the United Nations General Assembly.
