Qatar Confirms Ongoing Mediation Between Washington and Tehran and Warns Against Imposing a New Reality in the West Bank

Doha - Afaq News - The spokesperson for the Qatari Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Majid Al-Ansari, said on Tuesday that mediation efforts between the United States and Iran are ongoing, emphasizing that Doha continues to convey messages between the two sides in an attempt to reach common ground and a diplomatic solution to the crisis.

Al-Ansari explained during a press conference in Doha that communications and meetings between the concerned parties are still ongoing, stressing that Qatar sees no alternative to a peaceful solution to the crisis between Washington and Tehran.

He pointed out that current efforts are focused on bridging viewpoints and building common ground in preparation for the resumption of direct negotiations, affirming the importance of maintaining communication channels between the two sides.

The Qatari spokesperson emphasized the necessity of respecting infrastructure facilities in the region, warning that targeting or threatening them constitutes a violation of international law amid escalating tensions in the area.

In the same context, Al-Ansari warned against Israeli efforts to impose a fait accompli in the occupied West Bank, affirming Qatar's rejection of any unilateral steps that would change the status quo or undermine the rights of the Palestinian people.
