Ismail Saibari, a Bayern Munich player, was injured during the match against Borussia Dortmund, at the Allianz Arena, last Saturday, in the eighth round of the German League. Saibari was forced to leave the green rectangle in the 29th minute, as his right foot severely sprained after a strong collision with goalkeeper Gregor Koppel inside the opponent’s penalty area.
Users of the “X” platform shared video clips of Ismail Sibari leaning on crutches in the stadium corridor after the match ended in a 2/2 draw. In statements reported by the Bavarian team account on Sunday, Joshua Kimmich said about the injury of Saibari and his teammates Serge Gnabry and Michael Olise, who felt pain in the same match: “It is painful.”
Kimmich, the team captain, added: “Regardless of the result, this is very bitter for us, and it did not seem that the injured players would return after two or three days.” Bayern Munich sporting director Max Eberl said: “It was very costly. At the moment, things seem more severe. What is happening around us, there is a lot that we have to absorb now.”
He continued: “We have to be very tough at the present time,” as the Bavarian team is also missing the services of its coach, Vincent Kompany, who suffered from a health problem. The Moroccan international participated in 14 matches in various competitions of the current season 2026/27, during which he scored 3 goals and made as many.
