What was the “shocking situation” that Vinicius was exposed to during the Villarreal match?

Vinicius Junior was sent off during his club Real Madrid's match against Villarreal at the Santiago Bernabeu Stadium, on Saturday, in the Spanish League (La Liga). Vinicius had participated in the match as a substitute, as he entered the green rectangle in the 52nd minute instead of his colleague Alexander Arnold.

In the 71st minute, the Brazilian player succeeded in scoring against Villarreal, putting the ball into the goal from inside the penalty area, to the great joy of him and his teammates. After reviewing the shot of the goal via the Video Assistant Referee (VAR) technology, referee Isidro Escuderos decided to cancel it and showed the red card to Vinicius Junior, which angered the latter.

This decision came from the referee because Vinicius pulled the hair of the opposing player, Nathan Saliba, without the ball during a confrontation between them at the beginning of the goal attack. The match ended in favor of the "Merengue" team with a goal to nil, scored by Yann Diomandi, in the eighth round of "LaLiga".
