The Heart Center at the Arab American University Concludes Training for the Elders' House Staff

Jenin - Afaq News - The Heart Center at the Arab American University and the House of Ancestors Association for the Care of the Elderly concluded a year-long training program, as part of the "Investment for Resilience Enhancement - IPR IV" project, implemented in collaboration with the United Nations Development Program (UNDP), and funded by the German government through the German Development Bank (KfW).

The program was executed with continuous follow-up and coordination from project coordinator Fida Abu Jarad, who contributed to monitoring the program stages, organizing training sessions, and coordinating between the parties, ensuring that the training activities aligned with the needs of the association's staff and the nature of the services provided to the elderly.

The agreement included a series of specialized training sessions in elderly care, communication and interaction, ethics of dealing with them, first aid, cardiopulmonary resuscitation, wound care and suturing, and concluded with a Training of Trainers (TOT) course in elderly care, aimed at enhancing the sustainability of knowledge and transferring expertise within the association.

Dr. Ahmed Hadreb, Director of the Heart Center at the Arab American University, emphasized that the importance of the agreement lies in its humanitarian aspect, through enhancing the quality of care for the elderly and preserving their health, medical, psychological rights, and dignity, noting that the trainings were carefully selected to meet the needs of this age group, and contributed to enhancing the readiness of the association's staff to provide more professional and comprehensive care.

At the conclusion of the program, participants were awarded certificates accredited by the Arab American University, in the presence of the management and staff of the House of Ancestors Association, with both sides affirming the importance of continuing cooperation and partnership to serve the elderly and contribute to improving the quality of services provided to them.
