Settlers Storm Archaeological Area in the Old Town of the Village of Al-Jib

Jerusalem - Afaq News - About 50 settlers, today Monday, stormed the Ras area in the old town of the village of Al-Jib, northwest of occupied Jerusalem, under the protection of Israeli occupation forces. They prevented citizens from accessing the area.

The head of Al-Jib municipality, Samer Abdul-Rahab, reported that the settlers arrived in the area on a bus, accompanied by occupation forces, and stayed there for about four hours before the bus left with the occupation soldiers, while four settlers and four soldiers remained at the site.

He added that another bus returned later to the area, while the occupation forces continued to close the entrance to the Ras area and prevent citizens from accessing it, while the settlers erected Israeli flags at the site.

Abdul-Rahab pointed out that the Ras area is located within the old town of the village of Al-Jib, and it holds historical and archaeological significance, which increases the danger of the storming and the prevention of citizens from accessing it.
