- Sources for Afaq News reported that a Fly Dubai aircraft, which was headed from Dubai to Tel Aviv, had its course diverted to Saudi Arabia after the pilot issued a distress call. An Israeli official stated that the incident was not a hijacking, adding that they understood it to be an internal incident involving the crew on board the aircraft.

The incident prompted the Prime Minister and Minister of Defense in Israel to hold security consultations. Israeli fighter jets took off immediately after the distress message was sent, according to a spokesperson for the Israeli army speaking to Afaq News.

Afaq News sought to obtain a comment from Fly Dubai.
