Technology company officials who met with U.S. President Donald Trump at the White House yesterday evening to discuss regulating the artificial intelligence sector signed a "morally binding" agreement to establish sufficient safeguards for this rapidly evolving technology, at a time when Congress is intensifying its calls for stricter oversight of the sector.

However, the signed document caught the attention of many Americans on social media. Some pointed out a typographical error in the published document, such as in the phrase "President of the United States," where it was written as "president of unites states" instead of United.

Even the CEO of Google shared the document on his X account today, Wednesday, without noticing the error.

Meanwhile, one user sarcastically commented: "The super intelligence didn't notice a spelling mistake!"

While the document spread widely on X, amid a wave of comments on this mistake that was overlooked by dozens of technology giants and pioneers in the field of artificial intelligence.

Trump confirmed after the meeting that included prominent leaders in the artificial intelligence sector that technology companies "will self-regulate."

However, the final document, dubbed the "White House Agreement," left the door open for "turning these steps into laws or regulatory frameworks" over time. He stated that he would officially rename this technology in government documents to "superintelligence" instead of "artificial intelligence."

This came after a number of the world's leading technology leaders, including Elon Musk, Jeff Bezos (Amazon), Mark Zuckerberg (Meta), Satya Nadella (Microsoft), Sundar Pichai (Google), and Jensen Huang (NVIDIA), met with Trump, U.S. House Speaker Mike Johnson, Dario Amodei (Anthropic), and Greg Brockman (OpenAI) yesterday at the White House.

Meanwhile, only two women participated among the 31 guests, namely Suzy Wiles, the White House Chief of Staff, and Lisa Su, the CEO of AMD.

This meeting comes at a time when negative attitudes towards artificial intelligence are rising in Washington, amid growing pressure on lawmakers to limit or slow the development of this technology, for fear that it will replace workers and cause radical changes in society.

Meanwhile, the series of events reported by artificial intelligence companies in recent months has added a new dimension to the discussion about the security of this technology, turning it into a hot topic as the date of the legislative elections in the United States approaches on November 3.
