The late artist's real name is Vishwanath Patekar.
He began his artistic career in 1978 and, over the next five decades, was considered one of the most distinguished actors in Indian cinema. He also gained immense popularity with the audience thanks to his portrayal of the character “Udai Shetty” in the films “Welcome” and “Welcome Back”.
During this rich career, he won 3 National Film Awards and was awarded the Padma Shri in 2013. The late actor Nana Patekar’s last film roles were in the films “O’ Romeo” and “Subedaar”.
The two films were shown this year, in February and March, respectively.
