- At the Joint List headquarters in the city of Nazareth, supporters began dancing and singing after exit polls showed that the Arab parties would achieve record representation in the next Israeli parliament (Knesset). The three main opinion polls indicated that the Joint List and the United Arab List (Ra'am) would together obtain between 17 and 18 seats, exceeding the previous record of 15 seats recorded in the 2015 elections.
This number represents a significant increase compared to the representation of these parties in the outgoing Knesset, where they had only 10 seats. In a statement, the Joint List stated: “We can say with complete confidence: We have thrown the right-wing fascist government into the dustbin of history.”
Posts on social media showed scenes from the city of Taybeh in central Israel, where crowds carried cheering supporters on their shoulders. In the city of Sakhnin, the head of the United Arab List, Mansour Abbas, said: “We will turn the seats we won into a new reality in the country.”
