Araqchi: Netanyahu is pushing America into another war to avoid imprisonment

In response to Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu's statements, Iranian Foreign Minister Abbas Araqchi considered that Israel was pushing the United States into another war.

Araqchi wrote in a post on X on Sunday night: “Netanyahu is pushing the United States into another war in order to avoid imprisonment, regardless of the consequences for Israel, not to mention the President of the United States.”

He also warned against attacking his country again, according to what Netanyahu hinted about “completing the mission,” saying: “Be careful, we also have tasks that we have not accomplished yet.”

This came after US President Donald Trump yesterday, Sunday, gave his support to Netanyahu in the legislative elections in Israel, in a move that the Prime Minister responded with thanks and a pledge to work together to eliminate the "Iranian threat." Trump wrote on his platform, Truth Social, “Let this letter serve as a testament to my complete and unconditional support for Bibi Netanyahu in the race for re-election as Prime Minister of Israel.” He added, "This is the model of partnership that the United States expects from Israel, a country to which it has provided so much." He continued, "Benjamin Netanyahu was an exceptional warrior prime minister... and an exceptional partner in making peace." The Israeli prime minister responded by thanking him for his "tremendous support." “Together, we will accomplish the mission,” he wrote on the

He also added that "the partnership will continue with the aim of eliminating the Iranian threat within the next two years, or perhaps sooner," calling on voters to "listen" to Trump.

Netanyahu, the longest-serving prime minister in Israel's history, is seeking to obtain a new mandate from voters after pushing the country over the past years into multiple conflicts under the slogan of "changing the Middle East," most notably the war on Iran in partnership with Washington as of February.

Meanwhile, opinion polls suggest that the elections will witness a heated competition between Netanyahu and his most prominent rival, Gadi Einzkot, who denounced Trump’s position in supporting a candidate at the expense of others in Israel.

It is noteworthy that Netanyahu, who turns 77 years old on October 21, spent more than 19 years as prime minister at intermittent periods. He returned to this position in December 2022, through a coalition that included extremist nationalist forces that had previously been marginalized, to form a government considered the most right-wing in Israel’s history, according to Agence France-Presse.
