Beirut - Ofoq News - The Speaker of the Lebanese Parliament, Nabih Berri, confirmed that the repeal of the Israel Boycott Law issued in 1955 will not pass the Parliament, in light of American pressure and efforts led by some representatives to repeal the law.
Berri told the Lebanese newspaper Al-Akhbar regarding these pressures and parliamentary movements: “Those who believe that things are chaos and that the country is chaos are mistaken. The country has not escaped yet.”
He added in a sarcastic tone: “I am waiting with bated breath for someone to propose a law in this regard.”
In another context, Berri stressed that “stability and protecting the country is everyone’s responsibility,” calling on all parties to stop everything that would increase tension and deepen internal divisions.
