The General Secretariat of the Council of Senior Muslim Scholars in Saudi Arabia confirmed that the threat of the Houthi terrorist militia is no less than the danger of extremist groups, such as ISIS and Al-Qaeda, but rather exceeds it in terms of corruption on earth and aggression against Muslims, pointing to the targeting of civilians and civilian facilities in Yemen, and attempts to target Mecca and Medina.
The General Secretariat said, in a statement, that the Houthi terrorist militia’s attacks and the destabilization of security, the division of speech, and the assault on those who are safe and sanctified, represent terrorism by all standards, and reflect their audacity to violate the sanctities of God.
She added that the attempt to target those visiting the Sacred House of God and the Prophet’s Mosque, may God bless him and grant him peace, represents a great crime, praising the vigilance of the Saudi air defense and the efficiency of the armed forces in thwarting hostile plans.
She explained that these actions fall within the crimes that Sharia texts warn against, as they entail a violation of the sanctity of lives and property, a threat to security and stability, and an attempt to attack the sanctities of Muslims.
The General Secretariat called on Muslims to denounce these actions and stand united in confronting attacks on sanctities, citing the Almighty’s saying: “And cooperate in righteousness and piety, but do not cooperate in sin and aggression.”
