The Yemeni Armed Forces announced, on Wednesday, the implementation of 835 targeting operations against the positions and movements of the Houthi militia during the past 24 hours, as part of Operation “Yemen Dawn,” and said that it resulted in the neutralization of about 285 members and leaders, and the destruction or damage of 190 military vehicles and means.

The official spokesman for the Yemeni Armed Forces, Colonel Majid Al-Nuzaili, explained in a statement that the operations were carried out using military aircraft, drones, artillery, launchers, and sniper units, and targeted Houthi gatherings, reinforcements, armored vehicles, sources of fire, fortifications, and transportation and supply lines.

In Taiz Governorate, Al-Nuzaili said that the Houthis sent in new reinforcements in an attempt to regain positions, but government forces, with the support of the popular resistance, were able to repel their advance and thwart their tactical goals, according to the statement.

He added that operations continued on the northern and eastern fronts and western Ma'rib, where army units targeted the Houthis' movements, fortifications and military means, in an effort to limit their ability to maneuver and transfer forces between the fronts.

The statement confirmed that the operations targeted legitimate military targets after verifying them and taking the necessary precautions to protect civilians and civilian facilities.

In this context, violent battles broke out between the Yemeni army, backed by the popular resistance, and members of the Houthi militia on the fronts of the city of Taiz and its southern countryside, coinciding with military aircraft launching several raids.

He confirmed that the army forces secured the gains they achieved in Al-Misrakh District and, backed by popular resistance, continue their attack on Houthi elements in the district with air support from military aviation and army marches in Taiz.

He explained that the Asifra front, north of the city, witnessed battles following an infiltration attempt by the Houthis, while army artillery targeted a Houthi tank on the northeastern front, and members were stationed in the Central Security camp east of the city.
