- Iranian army spokesman, Brigadier General Mohammad Akrami Nia, said on Friday that they have a plan that will force American warships to retreat further and move away from the region. In response to US President Donald Trump's statements regarding the destruction of Iran's defense capabilities, the Iranian army spokesman said, "Field facts refute these allegations," pointing to the downing of several American drones over the past weeks, according to what was reported by the official Iranian "IRNA" news agency.
Brigadier General Muhammad Akrami claimed that "the American forces were forced to move their military ships more than 500 kilometers away from the Iranian coast, and that new operational plans are being implemented to push them to retreat further." The Iranian military spokesman called on "regional countries to strengthen cooperation among themselves and establish a joint security mechanism, paving the way for ending the American presence in the region."
The Iranian army spokesman warned "owners of commercial ships against crossing the Strait of Hormuz without prior coordination with the Iranian armed forces." Brigadier General Muhammad Akrami said that the ships that adhered to the specified controls and coordinated their crossing with the Iranian armed forces were able to cross the Strait of Hormuz without problems, according to the "IRNA" agency.
US President Donald Trump said on Wednesday that he "may have exaggerated" in "eliminating multiple levels of Iranian leaders," noting that the United States is now facing difficulty in determining who it can negotiate with. Trump added during a rally in Arizona: “Maybe I exaggerated it.
I don't know who the hell to deal with; Their leaders from the first level were eliminated, and they chose leaders from the second level, then the leaders from the second level were eliminated, and they chose leaders from the third level, and half of them are gone.” According to Iranian officials, Mojtaba Khamenei - the son of the late Supreme Leader Ali Khamenei - has been leading the country since the killing of his father, but he has not appeared in public since he was reportedly injured in one of the strikes.
Trump had previously told a rally in Alabama that “the state of confusion over who is in power in Iran is complicating efforts to reach an agreement,” and added: “They have lost everything, including their leaders, by the way,” and claimed that “there is no one ready to take over and run the country.”
