Israel signs a deal with the United States to purchase 12 advanced Apache helicopters

Tel Aviv - Ofoq News - The Israeli Ministry of Defense and the US Department of Defense (the Pentagon) signed a deal to purchase 12 advanced Apache helicopters for the Israeli army, produced by the American company “Boeing”.

The helicopters are scheduled to be delivered at the beginning of the next decade, and they are the “Echo” model, which is the latest and most advanced model of these helicopters.

The deal was adapted through joint Israeli-American efforts, to suit Israel's needs and the complex financial restrictions it faces at the current stage.

The Israeli Ministry of Defense mission in the United States and the Ministry’s Budgets Department led the efforts aimed at crystallizing the deal and setting the necessary financial framework for its implementation.

The Director General of the Israeli Ministry of Defense, retired Major General Amir Baram, directed the ministry’s delegation in the United States to sign the deal, after the government approved it, and after it was postponed several times due to gaps in funding.
