In a scene that seemed to be excerpted from a movie, the atmosphere of one of the popular markets in Assiut Governorate, southern Egypt, turned into a state of chaos, after a quarrel broke out between a number of people, documented by a circulating video clip, while the security services intervened to examine the circumstances of the incident.

The clip showed a clash inside a fruit and vegetable market on Riyadh Street, amid boxes of goods that fell and scattered in the aisles, while a state of confusion prevailed between shoppers and neighboring store owners.

According to initial details, the incident began with a verbal altercation that quickly developed into a fistfight, causing chaos inside the market and raising fears among those in the place.

Immediately, the security services in the Assiut Security Directorate moved to the site of the incident to break up the clash and separate the parties, while the necessary legal measures were taken to uncover the circumstances of the quarrel and identify those responsible.
