Air strikes continued as part of Operation “Yemen Dawn” on sites belonging to the Houthi militia in Sanaa, coinciding with violent confrontations between the Yemeni armed forces and militia members in Taiz Governorate.
Yemeni sources said that the explosions coming from the Jabal Sarra tunnels on the outskirts of Nihm District in Sanaa Governorate, began after an air strike that targeted the area at midnight yesterday, and have continued until now, noting that the tunnels are believed to contain weapons stores belonging to the Houthis.
Air strikes also targeted Houthi military sites in Sana'a and Amran governorates, as Yemeni sources reported that two air strikes targeted a radar station belonging to the group in Jabal al-Nabi Shuaib, west of Sana'a.

A series of raids also targeted military fortifications and weapons stores of the Houthi militia in the Al-Jabal Al-Black area in the Harf Sufyan District, north of Amran Governorate. These raids came since the dawn hours, a day after a series of air strikes, described as the most violent, targeting military sites and gatherings in several Yemeni governorates.
As for Taiz, the Yemeni armed forces, backed by the resistance, thwarted a violent attack launched by the Houthi militia on its positions in the Al-Misrakh area, south of Taiz Governorate, at a time when sources reported that violent clashes broke out in the vicinity of Jabal Dahhih and the villages of Al-Dhanib, Al-Qahfah, and Al-Damnah, before extending to the strategic “Tabbah Abdullah Ghaleb” height.
In the Al-Aqroud area, renewed confrontations resulted in the killing and wounding of dozens of Houthi members, in addition to the damage to a military vehicle. On the other hand, a Yemeni woman was killed in the village of Al-Dimna in the Al-Aqroud area, after she was targeted by Houthi sniper fire stationed in the “Aden Hill”.
Yemeni Assistant Minister of Defense, Samir Al-Sabri, told Al-Arabiya: The battles are not concentrated on the western coast only, but extend to Al-Bayda, Ma’rib, and the Taiz countryside.. and the progress in Al-Jawf is significant https://t.co/Iz9R6GBKZp
On the Bab al-Mandab front, a military source revealed that the Houthi group planted large numbers of mines in the area, and erected concrete blocks on the roads, in an attempt to obstruct the movements of advancing Yemeni forces.
He added that the engineering teams continue field sweeping operations to remove mines and explosive devices, and secure the areas and roads that were recovered.
The Yemeni government forces had announced the completion of their control over the Bab al-Mandab Strait and Mayon Island, in conjunction with confrontations waged by the Southern Giants forces against members of the Houthi group in the Dhubab area, which ended with the capture of a number of the group's members.
It is noteworthy that the Yemeni government launched Operation “Yemen Dawn” on October 5, 2026, with the aim of regaining areas under the control of the Houthi militia, after a field escalation during September that included the group’s advance on the western coast and areas near the Bab al-Mandab Strait.
Note that government forces, the Giants Brigades, and the National Shield Forces are participating in this operation, with air support, while the operations focused on restoring strategic sites and securing the strait and the western coast, in addition to liberating the capital, Sana’a, in conjunction with the expansion of confrontations to other fronts, including Taiz Governorate.
