- The General Authority of Civil Aviation of Saudi Arabia announced on Tuesday that King Abdullah bin Abdulaziz International Airport in Jazan and Najran International Airport were subjected to two attacks targeting their facilities on Monday evening, resulting in three minor injuries and material damage. The authority stated in a statement that "emergency teams and relevant authorities began addressing the attacks immediately after they occurred, according to approved procedures and plans."
It added that the relevant authorities are continuously coordinating with the related security agencies to assess the damages and take all necessary measures to ensure the safety of travelers and workers. The authority confirmed "its continued efforts to maintain the security and safety of the civil aviation system in the Kingdom."
The spokesperson for the "Coalition to Support Legitimacy in Yemen," led by Saudi Arabia, announced on Sunday its support for the internationally recognized Yemeni government, amid the latter's announcement of the start of a large military operation against the Iran-backed Houthis. The coalition's official spokesperson, Turki Al-Maliki, stated in a statement that the coalition continues "to provide full operational support to the Yemeni armed forces and to stand with the legitimate Yemeni government and the Yemeni people to end the coup and restore the state and its national institutions to build Yemen's future."
Al-Maliki added that "the terrorist Houthi militia's attacks on the Kingdom" and attempts to target Mecca and Medina, as well as attempts to target Saudi ships in the southern Red Sea and Bab al-Mandab Strait, "necessitate the continuation of necessary measures to deter hostile actions in order to protect the security and sovereignty of the Kingdom as well as regional and international security."
