The absence of a prominent star... 26 players in the first Egyptian national team roster under the leadership of Ali Maher

Ali Maher, the new coach of the Egyptian national team, revealed the “Pharaohs” list to participate in the qualifying competitions for the 2027 African Cup of Nations, this November. The list included 26 players, including Mohamed Salah, Omar Marmoush, and Hamza Abdel Karim, while Ali Maher, Al-Ahly star Imam Ashour, was absent from the first list, in light of his absence from matches with his club.

Below we review the list: Goalkeepers: Mohamed El-Shenawy, Mahdi Soliman, Mustafa Schubert, Mohamed Alaa. Defense: Mahmoud Al-Wansh, Hossam Abdel Majeed, Rami Rabia, Mohamed Abdel Moneim, Mahmoud Marei, Mohamed Hani, Karim Hafez, Ahmed Fattouh, Tariq Alaa.

Midfield: Marwan Attia, Muhannad Lashin, Mahmoud Saber, Mohamed Shehata, Nasser Maher, Ibrahim Adel, Mahmoud Hassan Trezeguet, Ahmed Sayed Zizo, Haitham Hassan. Attack: Mohamed Salah, Omar Marmoush, Hamza Abdel Karim, Mahmoud Mamdouh.

The “Pharaohs” team will face Malawi on the 13th and 17th of this month, in the third and fourth rounds of the African National Team Championship qualifiers.
