A Polish journalist entered into a funny discussion about the "honeymoon" with Real Madrid's Portuguese coach, Jose Mourinho, before Real Madrid's match against Roma in the Champions League. The Polish journalist said in the press conference that preceded the confrontation: “According to what I read in the newspapers, this match may be a survival match for you, whether it is or not, I do not know.
I am a journalist speaking from abroad and I am not aware of what is happening inside...” Mourinho interrupted him, saying: “You are very far away. Poland is very far away, so the information arrives in turbulent waves.”
The journalist added: “Well my question is, because I have the impression that the honeymoon at Real Madrid is over: What is your point of view?” The Portuguese coach asked: “What honeymoon?”, to which the journalist replied: “I mean the honeymoon...”, to which Mourinho answered: “I know what a honeymoon is, but what do you mean?”, to which the journalist answered: “At the present time everyone expects you to achieve victories...”, to which Mourinho interrupted him, saying: “And this is the honeymoon?” Before he burst into laughter, he continued: “No, this is not a honeymoon.” But the journalist came back to ask him again: “Well, what is your point of view?” To which Mourinho answered: “My point of view on what?”
The journalist said: “Well, I will rephrase the question in a better way and make it simpler: How do you feel before the match?”, to which Mourinho answered: “Like always, I have a wonderful feeling. I sleep like an angel before the match and I do not sleep as usual after the match.” Mourinho returns again to the Olympico Stadium in the Italian capital, two years after he left after the end of his career as coach of the Italian capital club.
