Video Attributed to 'Houthi Attack on King Khalid Airport in Riyadh'.. This is its Truth

- Accounts on social media circulated a video claiming to show footage of the moment of the attack on King Khalid International Airport in the Saudi capital, Riyadh. The video garnered tens of thousands of views on X, accompanied by a misleading description stating: "Departure and exit of passengers from King Khalid International Airport in Riyadh after a warning targeting the Yemeni armed forces and the announcement of a flight ban in Saudi airspace."

Upon using reverse search, we found a published version of the video on YouTube dated November 4, 2017. At that time, the video title stated that it was "Filming inside King Khalid Airport in Riyadh after the missile interception."

The circulation of the video coincided with the announcement by the Iran-backed Houthi group on Monday that it had carried out three missile attacks on Saudi Arabia, targeting several locations, including King Khalid International Airport in Riyadh. Saudi authorities have not confirmed the validity of these claims.

Meanwhile, the Saudi General Authority of Civil Aviation announced on Tuesday that King Abdullah bin Abdulaziz International Airport in Jazan and Najran International Airport were subjected to two attacks targeting their facilities on Monday evening, resulting in three minor injuries and material damage. The coalition in Yemen, led by Saudi Arabia, also announced that it had carried out strikes on "legitimate military targets" in the Hodeidah Governorate, adding that the operation thwarted a Houthi plan for imminent attacks on maritime routes in the southern Red Sea, according to the coalition.

The internationally recognized Yemeni government had announced on Sunday the start of a wide military operation aimed at repelling the advances made by the Houthi group in recent times. The Yemeni army announced on Monday that it had regained control of the Dhobab area overlooking the Bab al-Mandab Strait, which the Houthis denied.

The Iran-backed Houthis launched a swift attack along the Red Sea coast last month, managing to seize a major port, which increased pressures on international navigation security.
