The Yemeni Ministry of Interior announced the arrest of a number of terrorist cells affiliated with the Houthi militia during last September. They intended to cause chaos and carry out operations targeting security and military leaders in the interim capital of Aden and the governorates of Lahj and Abyan, in addition to military reinforcements and supply and logistical lines.
This came in a joint press conference held on Monday, in Aden, and included the Minister of Interior, Major General Ibrahim Haidan, the Minister of State, Governor of Aden, Abdul Rahman Sheikh, the Governor of Lahj, Murad Al-Halmi, and the Deputy Minister of Information, Salah Al-Aqel.
Minister Haidan stressed that protecting the home front represents an integral part of Operation (Yemen Dawn), on which our people place great hopes in restoring state institutions and liberating every inch of the nation’s lands.
He said, "The security services are waging a continuous battle that has not stopped for a single moment in the face of the terrorist plans of the Houthi militias supported by the Iranian regime, in order to enhance security and stability," stressing that the victories achieved by all security units in securing the home front represent an essential pillar and a real starting point towards completing the battle of liberation and achieving the desired victory, which our people have been looking forward to for more than a decade with bated breath.
He added, "We are waging our battle with the terrorist Houthi militia, which has made terrorist behavior into its ideological methodology, and has abandoned the teachings of our true Islamic religion, until its terrorism has gone beyond targeting the interior and communities in the liberated governorates, and reached the point of targeting Islamic holy sites (Mecca and Medina), which represent the holiest places for Muslims, and the heart of the hearts of more than a billion Muslims around the world, and whose faith and religious conscience are linked to them."
He pointed out that the Houthi militias devoid of all customs, traditions, and authentic societal values, and used all despicable methods and means, as they recruited children and women, recruited African immigrants, and recruited the elderly, in order to achieve their terrorist and extremist goals of destabilizing security and stability and disturbing the tranquility and general tranquility of citizens in the liberated governorates.
The Minister of the Interior pointed out that the Houthi militias are exploiting their control over the communications and Internet sectors and using them to implement their terrorist plans, by using them in surveillance, monitoring, and information gathering, in a way that serves their subversive activities and terrorist operations.
