- American officials announced that a shooting incident occurred near a university stadium in Tallahassee, Florida, on Saturday evening, resulting in 11 people being injured by gunshots. Tallahassee Police Chief Lawrence Revell said in a press conference held late Saturday evening that among the victims were 6 minors, one of whom was 11 years old.
The accident occurred a few hours after a college football game was held at the stadium, where the Arkansas-Pine Bluff Golden Lions defeated the Florida A&M Rattlers 31-28. It is not yet clear whether the shooting is related to the match.
The police chief stated that the shooting likely resulted from an argument between two or three people, stressing that the police violent crimes unit was investigating the incident. For his part, John Daily, Mayor of Tallahassee, described the incident as a "terrible and extremely heartbreaking tragedy."
Ofek News has reached out to the Tallahassee Fire Department and the Leon County Sheriff's Office for more information.
