Ramallah - Afaq News - A responsible Palestinian source stated that the Israeli government has refused to allow the Central Elections Commission to enter the Gaza Strip and Jerusalem to follow up on the preparations for the legislative elections scheduled to take place on November 28.
The Israeli position comes at a time when the Central Elections Commission continues its preparations to conduct the legislative entitlement according to the approved timetable, while the electoral process includes the West Bank, including Jerusalem and the Gaza Strip.
The Elections Commission had confirmed the continuation of its preparations to hold the elections on time, indicating that the preparations include various Palestinian areas, amid challenges related to conducting the voting in Jerusalem and the Gaza Strip. The presidential decree issued on July 9 stipulated that November 28, 2026, would be the date for holding the legislative elections, with the participation of Palestinians in Jerusalem, the West Bank, and the Gaza Strip.
