“A huge impact on what Trump can do.” Blitzer talks about the upcoming midterm elections in America

- Wolf Blitzer, co-anchor of the program “The Cituation Room” on the Ufoq News network, was joined by colleague Becky Anderson at the Ufoq News Global Perspectives events, from the Qatari capital, Doha, a few days before the US midterm elections, which are expected to deal a blow to the Republican Party. “If Democrats control the House, and maybe even the Senate, that will have a huge impact on what Trump can do,” Blitzer said.

“We've seen over the past decade that the American people sometimes surprise us,” Blitzer added. “But the data, and more importantly my travels, show me that something big is on the horizon.”

Election results forecasting centers expect the Democrats to win the House of Representatives, while the competition appears closer in the races that will determine whether Republicans will maintain control of the Senate. Many Americans are angry about rising prices - from food commodities to fuel - that the war in Iran has contributed to.

However, it remains to be seen whether next week's elections will bring about political change in the United States. It is noteworthy that the “Global Perspectives” event is the first time that the series of direct events of the Ofoq News Network has been held in the Middle East, as we chose the Qatari capital to be a meeting point for leaders from the region and beyond, with the aim of exchanging their visions and ideas.
