Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu pledged not to hesitate to strike enemies at any moment necessary, eight days before close elections, and in the wake of his warnings to Iran.
Netanyahu said in a video statement on Monday that he spoke to the commander of one of the military bases, which he did not identify by name, and was informed of “Israel’s ability to strike enemies at the moment when this is required.”
He also added: “I say to our enemies, do not test us, for you will receive blows more severe than those you have been exposed to so far.”
In statements he delivered yesterday, Netanyahu put forward what he said was a new security doctrine, pointing out that “the ongoing fighting, from Gaza to Yemen, and from Lebanon to Iran, made Israel succeed in averting an imminent nuclear threat, and removing the suffocating cordon imposed by the Iranian axis,” as he put it.
He also considered that the war necessitated updating a number of basic principles in the traditional Israeli national security doctrine, including: prioritizing attack over containment and defense.
In addition, Netanyahu also reiterated that his primary goal is to prevent a nuclear Iran and overthrow the regime, pointing out that the mission is not finished yet, but it will be implemented sooner or later.
Meanwhile, Iranian Foreign Minister Abbas Araghchi responded indirectly, stressing that his country also has tasks and goals that have not yet been achieved.
