Washington - Ofoq News - Eight US states, including Iowa and Kansas, announced yesterday (Wednesday) that they had filed lawsuits against the “OpenAI” company in courts across the country due to the harm they said the “GBT Chat” application had caused to children.
According to Reuters, the United States reported that the automated chatbot prompted children to harm themselves or others.
The lawsuits filed in state courts seek an order forcing OpenAI to make changes in the way GBT Chat works with children.
The states are also seeking an order forcing the company to give up profits it made from child users.
The Florida Attorney General was the first to file a lawsuit against the company with similar accusations in June.
The company also faces dozens of lawsuits accusing GBT Chat of aiding in random shootings or other acts of violence.
